The Ruger Mark IV Rimfire Pistols have the classic look of the Mark III with a simple, one-button takedown for quick and easy field stripping. A recessed button in the back of the frame allows the upper receiver to tilt up and off of the grip frame without the use of tools. The bolt simply slides out of the receiver and the barrel can be properly cleaned from chamber to muzzle. The MKIV includes other significant improvements such as a one-piece grip frame that is precision CNC-machined from a solid piece of aluminum alloy; an ambidextrous manual safety and a redesigned bolt stop for more ergonomic operation. The magazine drops free on release for faster reloads and a redesigned magazine disconnect safety prevents discharge when the magazine has been removed. Chambered in 9mm Luger, the new G2C pistols are built on a rugged polymer frame that includes aggressive stippling, ergonomically placed along the grip to ensure firearm retention and to maintain positive hand alignment for optimal accuracy. The compact profile (1.25" wide x 6.25" long x 5.0" tall) combined with the 12 round - (9mm Luger) capacity magazines' contoured grip extension delivers a solid, comfortable hold for small- or large-hand shooters. Operation of the G2C is straightforward, thanks to a striker-fire, double-action trigger system that includes restrike capability. A manual, external safety is located conveniently above the thumb for quick manipulation in stressful conditions. The reversible magazine release is also ergonomically positioned for rapid, one-hand mag drops during tactical mag changes. Integrated into the G2C frame is a Mil-STD 1913 Picatinny rail to accept an accessory light or a laser.
