It fires from the bottom of the cylinder rather than the top which dramatically reduces muzzle rise and recoil felt by lowering the axis of the bore almost to the palm of the shooters hand. The Ruger PC Carbine is a take-down pistol-caliber carbine chambered in 9mm. (This rifle is very similar to a Ruger 10/22 takedown, both in operation and disassembly.)
