This Ruger AR-556 semi-automatic rifle is made from forged aerospace-grade
7075-T6 aluminum. The hard coat anodized, flattop upper receiver includes a
forward assist, dust cover and brass deflector, while the Magpul M-Lok
handguards are made from heat-resistant glass-filled nylon. It also has a
bolt machined from 9310 alloy steel, single-stage trigger, chrome-plated
bolt carrier with a matte black oxide finish on the exterior. The AR-556
also utilizes a heavy contour, cold hammer-forged barrel and ergonomic
pistol grip.

Ruger's Mark IV features a simple, one-button takedown for quick and easy field-stripping and proper chamber to muzzle cleaning. The recessed button in the back of the frame allows the upper receiver to tilt up and off of the grip frame without the use of tools.
