Ruger's Mark IV features a simple, one-button takedown for quick and easy field-stripping and proper chamber to muzzle cleaning. The recessed button in the back of the frame allows the upper receiver to tilt up and off of the grip frame without the use of tools. Its internal cylindrical bolt construction ensures permanent sight to barrel alignment, while the contoured ejection port and easy-to-grasp bolt ears allow for durable and reliable operation. The accurate sighting system features a drilled and tapped receiver for Weaver- or Picatinny-style rail. The Mark IV is a single action and utilizes an ambidextrous manual safety, push-button magazine release located on the left side, and an ergonomic bolt stop. Included is a washer and two magazines. This 22/45 Lite model features an aerospace-grade aluminum, ventilated receiver with a black anodized finish. It also has a threaded 4.4" barrel, black polymer grip frame, checkered 1911-style grip, and a fixed front sight with an adjustable rear.

The Ruger Mark IV Target is a simple, blowback-operated pistol based on the original Ruger Standard introduced in 1949. Unlike its' predecessor, however, the Mark IV Target features one-button takedown for quick and easy field-stripping and proper chamber to muzzle cleaning. A recessed button in the back of the frame allows the upper receiver to tilt up and off of the grip frame without the use of tools. It features a one-piece, precision CNC-machined grip frame, ergonomic bolt stop, and a contoured ejection port. The sighting system features an adjustable rear sight and a receiver drilled and tapped for Weaver- or Picatinny-style rail (rail not included). The ambidextrous manual safety positively locks the sear in the "SAFE" position when applied, and the safety can be converted to left-side only with included washer. The Ruger Mark IV Rimfire Pistols have the classic look of the Mark III with a simple, one-button takedown for quick and easy field stripping. A recessed button in the back of the frame allows the upper receiver to tilt up and off of the grip frame without the use of tools. The bolt simply slides out of the receiver and the barrel can be properly cleaned from chamber to muzzle. The MKIV includes other significant improvements such as a one-piece grip frame that is precision CNC-machined from a solid piece of aluminum alloy; an ambidextrous manual safety and a redesigned bolt stop for more ergonomic operation. The magazine drops free on release for faster reloads and a redesigned magazine disconnect safety prevents discharge when the magazine has been removed. Internal improvements include changes to the hammer, sear, bolt and firing pin for smoother, more reliable feeding. Specific features vary by model, but the legendary, one-piece barreled receiver and internal cylindrical bolt construction remain the same.
