The Ruger Mark IV Target is a simple, blowback-operated pistol based on the original Ruger Standard introduced in 1949. Unlike its' predecessor, however, the Mark IV Target features one-button takedown for quick and easy field-stripping and proper chamber to muzzle cleaning. A recessed button in the back of the frame allows the upper receiver to tilt up and off of the grip frame without the use of tools. It features a one-piece, precision CNC-machined grip frame, ergonomic bolt stop, and a contoured ejection port. The sighting system features an adjustable rear sight and a receiver drilled and tapped for Weaver- or Picatinny-style rail (rail not included). The ambidextrous manual safety positively locks the sear in the "SAFE" position when applied, and the safety can be converted to left-side only with included washer. Its internal cylindrical bolt construction ensures permanent sight to barrel alignment, while the contoured ejection port and easy-to-grasp bolt ears allow for durable and reliable operation. The Mark IV is a single action and utilizes an ambidextrous manual safety, push-button magazine release located on the left side, and an ergonomic bolt stop. Included is a washer and two magazines. The magazine drops free on release for faster reloads and a redesigned magazine disconnect safety prevents discharge when the magazine has been removed. Internal improvements include changes to the hammer, sear, bolt and firing pin for smoother, more reliable feeding.
