Ruger AR556, like its more expensive cousin the SR556, is packed with
features that fans of the Modern Sporting Rifle demand.
The
AR556 is direct impingement gas-operated with a 16-inch 1:8
hammer-forged barrel threaded 1/2×28. Also featured is a
windage-adjustable rear flip-up sight, a six-position telescoping
M4-style buttstock with a Mil-Spec buffer tube, M4 feed ramps, a
matte Type III hard coat oxide finish, enlarged trigger guard, a
chrome-plated bolt carrier, and an A2-style front post sight with
elevation adjustment, a bayonet lug and a Q/D attachment socket. This
rifle also comes with one 30-round Magpul PMAG.

The Ruger PC Carbine is a take-down rifle chambered in 9mm. It comes standard with innovative features such as a custom "dead blow" tungsten weight which shortens bolt travel and simultaneously reduces both felt recoil and muzzle rise. It also has interchangeable magazine wells, one which accepts Ruger SR-Series and the new Ruger Security 9 mags, and another which accepts Glock mags. The bolt is machined from heat treated, chrome-moly steel to ensure strength, structural integrity and durability. The Ruger AR-556 Pistol features a lower receiver that is fitted with an adjustable pistol stabilizing brace to aid in accuracy, balance and recoil management, the slim 9" handguard is free-floating for accuracy and provides enhanced ergonomics and support. Magpul M-LOK accessory attachment slots along the 3:00, 6:00 and 9:00 positions. Made from aerospace-grade 7075-T6 aluminum forging, the flattop upper receiver includes a forward assist, dust cover and brass deflector. The bolt is machined from 9310 alloy steel and is shot peened and pressure (proof) tested to ensure strength, structural integrity and durability. The twist rate stabilizes bullets from 35 to 77 grains and the 5.56 NATO chamber allows the use of both 5.56 NATO and .223 Rem. ammunition. M4 feed ramps provide improved reliability and the matte black oxide finish reduces glare and provides corrosion resistance. A matte black oxide finish on the exterior of the bolt carrier provides corrosion resistance.
